China to Build World’s Fastest Bullet Train
China has announced plans to build the world’s fastest bullet train, capable of reaching speeds of up to 1,000 kilometers per hour (620 miles per hour). The new train, which will be developed by the state-owned China Aerospace Science and Industry Corporation, is expected to be operational by 2025.
According to reports, the new train will use magnetic levitation (maglev) technology to achieve such high speeds. Maglev trains use powerful magnets to suspend the train above the tracks, reducing friction and allowing for smoother and faster travel.
The new bullet train will be a major achievement for China, which already has the world’s largest high-speed rail network. The country’s current fastest bullet train, the Fuxing, can reach speeds of up to 350 kilometers per hour (217 miles per hour).
