The ending of the “blockbuster” <eм>Fast & Furious Presents: Hobbs & Shaw ,</eм> released in Vietnam in early August, is set in Samoa – Dwayne Johnson’s maternal hometown. The character Hobbs played by the actor has many similarities to his life.
In the new Fast & Furious part, after dramatic action scenes between the two sides of good and evil, Hobbs decides to bring the war to his hometown – where his mother and brothers live. Here, the family helps Hobbs and his teammates defeat the villains played by Brixton (Idris Elba). The film not only praises the Samoan people but also conveys the meaning of family as the place we turn to in the most difficult times.
Aggressive wrestler who hates constraints
In the movie, Hobbs once left his family to live in America because of conflicts with his father and brother. The “super spy” does not want to support his family’s illegal actions. In real life, Dwayne’s family had financial difficulties when he was young. While in high school, Dwayne joined a group of thieves in Hawaii, specializing in targeting tourists. Many nights, he was often locked up at the police station before being persuaded by a football coach at school to pursue a sports career at the age of 16.
In 2001, Dwayne had his first daughter – Simone – while competing in professional wrestling and achieving much success. He was nicknamed “The People’s Champion”. At the age of 15, he and Mrs. Ata went to America to visit his father who was on tour. After lunch at a rest stop, his parents began arguing. The two continued to talk loudly throughout the journey back to the hotel. While the car was on the highway, his mother got into a fight with his father, forcing him to stop the car. Dwayne said his past makes it difficult for him to maintain romantic relationships. The actor married Dany Garcia at the age of 25, while still a professional wrestler for the WWE, then divorced in 2007. He said the relationship had many problems because he was not mature.

He currently lives with his girlfriend Lauren Hashian. The two have been dating since 2007, are not married and have two daughters. Dwayne said Lauren helps him balance his life and is a strong supporter. “This relationship is the achievement I am most proud of. Apart from his new family, he is friendly with his ex-wife. Dany Garcia currently holds the position of director of Seven Bucks film studio founded by Dwayne. She is also the actor’s representative. Their common daughter – Simone (17 years old) was recently accepted into a university in the US. “I’m proud when my daughter achieves with her own abilities,” he told <eм>People</eм> on August 1.
Dwayne also shares his success with his parents. According to <eм>Eonline</eм> , for Christmas 2018, he bought his mother a private house. The actor often gives his father trucks – his hobby. Even though they divorced in 2005, they still support Dwayne every time he releases a new movie or achieves achievements in his career. The actor said he can buy anything his parents want, but they never ask for anything from him.
