An archaeological team of Italy and Poland has just discovered the remains of an ancient building built of mud bricks. This building is believed to be one of the 4 lost temples of the Sun dating from the 5th Dynasty of ancient Egypt (from 2465 to 2323 BC).

On July 30, Egypt’s Ministry of Antiquities and Tourism announced that archaeologists found traces of this building under the temple of King Nyuserre in the Abusir region, south of Cairo.

According to the announcement, preliminary studies indicate that the new find could be one of four missing sun temples dating back to the 5th Dynasty.

King Nyuserre demolished part of this building to build his temple. In addition, archaeologists also found many mud seals engraved with the names of kings from the 5th Dynasty and some jars and beer glasses inside this building.
