Everything We Know About Expendables 4
While detailed context of the images above isn’t yet clear, the official Expendables 4 trailer has revealed more about the upcoming film. The central plot will feature Stallone’s Barney Ross once again assembling his team, this time to take down an arms dealer with the power to potentially start World War 3. In addition to Statham, Randy Couture, and Dolph Lundgren, the team now features several new members, including Jaa, Megan Fox, 50 Cent, Jacob Scipio and Andy Garcia.
Of course, Ross’ team is also down a few original cast members, with Terry Crews, Jet Li, and Arnold Schwarzenegger not returning for Expendables 4. Martial arts star Iko Uwais also appears in the film, but it seems like he will be an antagonist, with one scene in the trailer showing him fighting Statham. The trailer also reveals more about what’s coming for Statham’s character, with Christmas no longer with his previous partner and now dating Fox’s Gina.
The trailer’s focus on Statham is in keeping with reports that Expendables 4 will see Barney pass the torch to Christmas as the new lead character for the franchise going forward. As such, the upcoming sequel will be Stallone’s last, and he is expected to have a smaller role than previous entries. Many questions remain about The Expendables 4, but, at the very least, the film is shaping up to have some impressive action with some big stars.
