Traces of ancient Greece are scattered throughout this country. Some were isolated on the island of Sicily, others integrated into modern cities, where events often take place today.

Taormina Theater is located on the Mediterranean Sea and next to the volcano Etna. This used to be the site of important cultural events of the ancient Greeks. The theater was built in 300 BC, before the Romans remodeled it in the 2nd century BC. Photo: Greekreporter.
