A couple of opportunistic elephants stuffed themselves with sugar cane when a vehicle carrying tasty snacks stopped ᴄʟᴏsᴇ to their trucks at a busy intersection.

A heavy-load truck carrying the giants of the animal kingdom was passing through Nakhon Sawan in northern Tʜᴀɪʟᴀɴᴅ on Saturday when it came to a stop at a stop sign. The elephants quickly located their favorite food, thrust out their trunks, and helped themselves to a passing driver’s crops.

The ‘very amusing’ moment the jumbos ate as much of the snack as they could before the lights turned green was captured on camera by Sunisa Champangern. She had occasionally seen elephants being transported before, but the fact that they happened to stop next to a truck carrying food was just a coincidence, she said.

The two elephants almost simultaneously reached out as if they were thinking along the same ideas. Sunisa continued that it was transporting sugar cane from a farm. The driver might find it difficult to explain why some of the crops were ᴍɪssɪɴɢ. She found it to be quite entertaining to watch.

The other drivers on the road stared in horror as the five-ton beasts fought to remove the sugar cane from the truck. They were able to smuggle a couple more canes onto the vehicle as the lights turned green so they would have soᴍᴇᴛʜing to eat on the way.
