Alexandra Kinova and her wife Antonin had been together for several years and when Alexandra turned 23 they gave the news that she was pregnant. For the family it was a great joy, but they could not imagine how much her life would change nine months later.
The couple already had a child when Alexandra became pregnant again.
Soon medical exams and consultations with the gynecologist went from being just a formality to becoming a real whirlwind of emotions. After one of the first tests, the doctors informed them that Alexandra was expecting twins.
It was a huge change but they were very happy to become a family of five. However, after this huge news, the doctors decided to do other tests as they wanted to be completely sure. And the result was not at all what they expected.
The couple lives in the city of Milovice in the Czech Republic.
After the following tests, the doctors gave new news. It would not be twins but triplets. Any couple would need time to process this whirlwind of emotions, but the doctors still had a couple more surprises for the Kinova family. Soon after they noticed a fourth baby.
It is estimated that in the last 10 years the proportion of multiple pregnancies in the world has increased by 400%.
There was no longer any doubt that this was a very special pregnancy, so they decided to consult with multiple specialists and carry out all the tests and ultrasounds possible to give the overwhelmed parents a definitive answer. After much study, doctors had the definitive answer. It was about five babies.
The echoes showed that Alexandra would have four males and one female.
In the midst of the shock, the Kinovas braced for a complicated pregnancy. However, everything turned out wonderfully and after 9 months the babies were born by caesarean section completely healthy.
The babies were named Alex, Deniel, Martin, Michael and Terezka.
Antonin, the father, was unable to witness the birth as traffic prevented him from reaching the hospital on time. However, he did not hesitate to cross the entire city to meet his little ones as soon as possible.
“I cried all the way to the hospital because I didn’t want to miss it.”
Specialists indicate that there is a one in a million chance that a quintuplet delivery will take place without any setbacks. Without a doubt, the Kinova family knew how to beat the odds and welcome these five angels into their family.
