The Rock named Wrestlemania’s real MVP and hinted at when he would return to WWE.
Earlier this month The Rock, John Cena and The Undertaker were in the ring for the WWE’s biggest box office event, Wrestlemania.
The two-day show saw Cody Rhodes end Roman Reigns’ three-year title streak in the culmination of the bloodline saga – one of WWE’s biggest storylines.
The Rock, real name Dwayne Johnson, made his return to the event more than 25 years after his wrestling debut, partnering with Reigns to take on Rhodes and Seth Rollins in a tag-team match in the first night’s main event.

That night was the “highest-selling single night” in the history of WWE, according to the Rock, who is also a board member of TKO – the company formed when WWE merged with UFC.
And a week on from the Philadelphia event, the WWE icon took to Instagram to discuss the weekend, while offering praise to Rhodes, Reigns and Rollins.
He also hinted that he would take part in Wrestlemania 41 next year.
The Rock said: “Congratulations to the men that I was in the ring with. These men are the best on the planet.
“Congratulations to Mr Cody Rhodes, the new Universal Champion. As I had said, when the Final Boss returns he’s coming back for you. [I’m going to] make you bleed again boy,
“Congratulations Cody Rhodes. Congratulations to my cousin Roman Reigns on an incredible three-and-a-half-year run, maybe even four years. Just incredible and iconic and historic. I’m very, very proud of you.
“And also congratulations to who I feel is the real MVP of the entire Wrestlemania weekend – Seth Rollins. Seth freaking Rollins.

“What an honour it was to share a ring with you three, what an honour it was to break records and now my sites are set on the next Wrestlemania. But that’s a conversation down the road.”

The Rock gives major update on WWE future after Wrestlemania 40
The Rock has provided a major update on his WWE future.
The Rock has provided a major update on his WWE future.
Fans watching Wrestlemania 40 were treated to the return of several of the WWE’s most iconic characters, for a two-day show labelled by the company’s chief content officer Paul ‘Triple H’ Levesque as “the biggest WrestleMania of all time”.
John Cena, The Rock and the Undertaker all made an appearance as Cody Rhodes beat Roman Reigns to become the Undisputed Universal Heavyweight World Championship.
The Rock, one the biggest names in the company’s history, made his return to the Philadelphia event, more than 25 years after his wrestling debut.
Of course, The Rock, real name Dwayne Johnson, has pivoted to Hollywood in the last two decades and at various points been named the highest-paid actor in the world.
While his WWE commitments have in turn, been compromised somewhat, The Rock hinted that he still has a future performing for the company during Wrestlemania 40.
After partnering with Reigns to take on Rhodes and Seth Rollins in a tag-team match in the main event of the first night, the Rock said he had “to go away for a little while.”
However, The Great One insisted that when he returns, irrespective of whether Rhodes is champion or not, he was coming for him.
He said while Rhodes’ story with Reigns may be over, “our story has just begun”, suggesting he has a WWE future.
In September 2023, The Rock returned to the WWE ring after a four-year hiatus.
That day he told Pat McAfee: “Honestly brother, it’s not the injury that I’m concerned about because that’s just part of it.
“It’s just part of the game you sign up for. You get hurt, we all get hurt. That’s just the way it is.
“It’s not even the schedule, because I can control the schedule to a large degree. Me going back to WWE and wrestling a match, it always comes down to the reason why and what can we create that’s never been done before for the fans.”

The Rock addresses whether he’ll wrestle again for WWE after WrestleMania
The Rock has broken his silence on his future WWE plans.
The Rock has broken his silence on whether or not he will wrestle again following his outing at WrestleMania 40 on Saturday.
Dwayne Johnson, 51, featured in his first full match in 11 years on Saturday – as he joined Roman Reigns to face Cody Rhodes and Seth Rollins at Lincoln Financial Field, Philadelphia.
The Rock initially retired from the sport back in 2003 due to injury, with the match at WrestleMania being his first full event in 21 years.
He marked his return in style as he pinned Rhodes – after 45-minutes of action – to seal the win and ensure Bloodline Rules will be used for the upcoming clash between Reigns and Rhodes at Sunday’s main event.
Speaking after the win, Johnson was questioned whether or not the WWE had further plans for The Rock in the near future.
To which he responded: “There might be. I can’t elaborate more on that, but there might be. We’ll see.”
The 51-year-old also went on to praise the WWE and the event as a whole, where he added: “I think that Triple H has done a tremendous job as our chief creative officer.
“I like pushing things and new times. It feels like in professional wrestling that this is a new era.
“It was a special night. This was the beginning of something, the beginning of something new.
“I think from a company stand point, this is an exciting time for the company, for WWE, for TKO.
“You felt the convergence towards the end of the year. I was fortunate enough to come back. It’s an exciting time and we capped off day one of WrestleMania, which we stated would be the greatest of all time, which is saying a lot.
“We collectively, as a company and a team, put out a really good show tonight.”

Amazing WWE fan theory over Seth Rollins’ ‘pure cinema’ WrestleMania moment will blow your mind
Seth Rollins ended up playing a huge role in the WrestleMania 40 main event, where Cody Rhodes defeated Roman Reigns.
A WWE fan theory has emerged surrounding Seth Rollins’ involvement in the WrestleMania 40 main event.
Cody Rhodes avenged last year’s loss and finally dethroned Roman Reigns to become undisputed WWE universal champion.
Reigns had held the title for 1316 days in a historic reign before the back-to-back Royal Rumble winner pinned him after three Cross-Rhodes.
But his victory came following interference aplenty from a host of big names after the bout was contested under ‘Bloodline Rules’.
Jimmy and Jey Uso, Solo Sikoa, John Cena, The Rock and The Undertaker all got involved in one of the greatest sequences in WWE history.
But it was Rollins who had arguably the biggest and most important role. He had teamed with Rhodes the night before in a losing effort against The Rock and Reigns and lost his WWE world title to Drew McIntyre earlier on in night two’s opener.
Yet he had promised Rhodes that he would be his ‘Shield’ and he followed through – appearing in his old attire and with his former Hounds of Justice music.
Rollins received a Superman Punch when he entered the ring with a chair that was used against him by Reigns.

Yet the storytelling on show was close to perfection. Rollins had done the same thing to Reigns ten years prior when he sold out and stabbed his Shield brothers in the back.
The Tribal Chief could not let it slide and after being disqualified against Rollins at their Royal Rumble 2022 match when he got inside his head, he fell into the same trap.
This time he chose to even the scores and take his off Rhodes, who capitalised
