A Border Collie and his new closest companion, an eight-month-old tiger cub, have become inseparable.
Solo the tricolor border collie and the orphaned tiger cub now do everything together, including resting, feeding, and playing.
The companions even eat from the same receptacle and groom each other.
Best friends: Border Collie Solo adopted an orphaned eight-month-old tiger cub that was transported to the Seaview Lion Park in Port Elizabeth, South Africa.
Solo and the tiger cub enjoy nothing more than playing pursuit and do everything together.Ashley Gombert, a game ranger from Port Elizabeth, South Africa, first noticed his loyal dog and the ferocious cat were friends when he saw them playing in a lagoon.
Since then, he has been unable to separate them, even allowing them to ride shotgun in his Jeep when he travels into town.
Ashley stated, ‘Solo is like a big brother to all the tiger cubs, but this one in particular has been literally trailing him everywhere he goes.
They will share food from the same receptacle and engage in lively water play. Everyone enjoys climbing into the rear of the Jeep and driving into town.
Ashley Gombert first noticed the pair’s camaraderie when he observed them splashing around in a lake while drying off.
Solo and the tiger cub travel everywhere together, including in the back of a vehicle.
Solo is presently larger than his eight-month-old companion, but they will soon be of equal size.However, Ashley added, ‘Solo’s Border Collie instincts will occasionally come in. He will attempt to herd or control the tigers if they defy his authority.
However, it demonstrates that he is very compassionate. He has even taken to grooming them and ensuring that they are adequately cared for.’
The tiger cub, who was orphaned along with his three siblings and brought to Ashley’s Sea View Game and Wildlife Park, enjoys nothing more than play battling with his new best companion.
And despite the myth that cats abhor water, the duo can frequently be seen frolicking in one of the 120-hectare wildlife reserve’s numerous lakes.
Solo gives the tiger pup a run for his money as he bounds away beyond his reach.
