Some portions of the old railroad track must be removed from a number of ancient railway lines as part of the reconstruction operations. The old railway had to be divided into pieces that were up to 25m long in order to be removed. Each section of the old rail track in this video is a track panel that is roughly 22.5 meters long. It weighs around 12 tons, has rails of type UIC 49, and has roughly 38 sleepers.

As part of the reconstruction of the Belgrade – Novi Sad – Subotica railway line, these repairs are being made at Sᴇʀʙɪᴀn railways. Rᴜssɪᴀn Railways’ business works on a portion of the route between Stara Pazova and Novi Sad. Rᴜssɪᴀn engineering uses a huge rail crane for lifting rail track panels and Rᴜssɪᴀn Railways cars for hauling rail track panels.

One part of the Belgrade railway junction is shown using another ᴍᴇᴛʜod to be undergoing renovation. It required a combination of certain large rail machines to be lifted and moved away from the old track. To create enough room for a crane passage, the track is moved using an excavator. A second excavator is building a two-rail crane path outside of the current old railway track. The old railway is lifted using a special crane after the crane path has been completed.

Transport of old track panels typically takes place to old, regional railway lines throughout Sᴇʀʙɪᴀn railways that will be rebuilt with these panels.

Let’s see Heavy rail machinery – Lifting and removing old rail track panels in the ᴀᴡᴇsome video below.
