Man United midfielder Kobbie Mainoo has been named among the 2023/24 Premier League Young Player of the Year nominees.
The Englishman has been rewarded for his admirable performances for the Red Devils in his debut season. He faces stiff competition from other quality players.
Mainoo is among eight nominees for this award. The others include Man City duo Erling Haaland and Phil Foden, and Arsenal stars Bukayo Saka, and William Saliba.
Alongside them the likes of Chelsea winger Cole Palmer, Tottenham Hotspur defender Destiny Udogie and Newcastle United forward Alexander Isak are all in the running for this award.
Alejandro Garnacho, although, is snubbed despite enjoying a decent campaign in which he’s scored seven goals and provided four assists.
The winner of the Premier League YPOTY award will be based on a mix of which players get the most votes from fans combined with the views of a panel of football experts.
Mainoo has made 21 appearances for Man United in the Premier League so far this season, scoring two memorable goals against Wolves and Liverpool.
