Varane will leave MU after this season ends
This afternoon, Raphael Varane announced that he will leave MU after this season ends. This is also the time when the French midfielder’s current contract with the Red Devils ends.
βPlaying for MU and wearing the red shirt is truly a great honor for me. When I first came to Old Trafford as a MU player, I felt a great atmosphere. That’s when I knew I loved the club and the fans here. Old Trafford will always be my home.
Although we have had a difficult season, I am very optimistic about the future of the club. The new owners are coming in with a clear plan and a great strategy. I’ll see you guys to say goodbye at the last home game of the season. This will definitely be an emotional day for me,β Varane shared.
For their part, MU also sent words of gratitude to Varane: “We would like to thank Raphael Varane for his tireless contributions to MU. We wish him all the best in the future.”
Raphael Varane joined MU from Real Madrid in the summer of 2021 for about 42.5 million pounds. During 3 seasons at Old Trafford, he appeared 93 times in all competitions, winning 1 League Cup championship.
Varane is currently out of action due to injury. The 2018 World Cup champion is racing against time to recover in time for the match against Man City in the FA Cup final (May 25).
