In yesterday’s interview, midfielder Bruno Fernandes hinted that he would consider leaving Man Utd this summer.
According to Telegraph, after the failed 2023-24 season (M.U lost in the battle for the top 4 Premier League, could not win tickets to the Champions League next season), Sir Jim Ratcliffe will have major surgery on his force. There are only 3 players who are untouchable: Kobbie Mainoo, Alejandro Garnacho and Rasmus Hojlund. The rest, including captain Bruno Fernandes, M.U’s best player in recent years, are all at risk of being pushed away in the 2024 summer market.
For his part, in an interview with the Portuguese version of DAZN yesterday, Bruno Fernandes also hinted at the possibility of parting ways with the Old Trafford team.
When asked about his future, the captain of M.U said; βAt this time I don’t want to be distracted. But obviously that (staying at M.U) doesn’t just depend on me, right?
A player’s future depends on the parties involved (player and club), but at the moment I don’t see that happening on either side.
I don’t think too much about the future, especially when this season I have not achieved the expected performance, whether individually or collectively, until now.
We can still end the season by winning the FA Cup (meet Man City in the final on May 25). After that, I will have an extremely important EURO.
So if you want me to share, to be honest, if I have to think about leaving the Premier League it will have to be after EURO 2024, because nothing can distract me from the FA Cup final and EURO 2024 . Nothing is more important than that at this moment.”
Bruno Fernandes came to M.U from Sporting Lisbon in January 2020. The Portuguese international is considered one of the most successful deals in Red Devils history.
Up to this point, Bruno Fernandes has scored 79 goals and had 64 assists in 230 matches for the Red Devils. With M.U, the 29-year-old midfielder won only one title: the Carabao Cup championship last season.
