Once upon a time, there was a little puppy named Tyra who was born with two deformed legs, making it hard for her to walk. Her breeder believed that she would never have a good quality of life and decided to take her to a clinic to be euthanized.

Fortunately, a family stepped in and rescued Tyra when she was just five weeks old. She was a brave and spirited puppy, even though she weighed only half a pound. For a few months, the family took care of her and helped her develop her walking skills and gain strength. They saw how happy she was and believed that she deserved to live a normal life like all dogs.

Tyra’s life changed when she was given to Homeward Trails Animal Rescue, which found a foster family for her. Tyra settled in right away and grew close to the family’s 70-pound black Lab. Her foster parents were determined to find out what her long-term care needs would be and helped her develop her own mobility and play skills.

Despite not having fully developed front legs, Tyra underwent physical therapy and was fitted for a set of wheels that allowed her to run as fast as her canine friends. Her foster family immediately adored her spunky, independent nature and decided to adopt her.

Now, Tyra is as content as she can be with her permanent family. She loves meeting new people, trying new things, and having dogs around. She doesn’t let her disability limit her and likes to run around and show everyone that all dogs have a chance at life.

Tyra’s human family is impressed by her joy and tenacity, as well as her sizable personality and energized spirit. They are grateful that they were able to give her a chance at a happy life and believe that a permanent home could make all the difference for rescue dogs like Tyra.
